ALT + Tab makes it unplayable but i was able to find that using the steam ingame overlay fixes it the same as Alt + Tab and makes it much more playable, yet still annoying. If the GPU does drop down in % load, I'm guessing heat, CPU not keeping up, or power. You said the heat is fine, so perhaps the CPU is falling behind somehow or there is a power issue. The 520 while ok isn't really meant for modern systems.
Go to Settings > Network> Uncheck the 'Connect to Internet' box. Install disk completely. ( note that in can still take a while, still several hours rather than possibly over a day long) Turn your network settings back on. Delete the patch if it starts to auto-download when the disk is inserted.
thanks man this helped me a lot (and prevented me from needing to replay things i already did) Bring up Uplay on your desktop, click the three bars on the top left to open the menu, click settings, should be on the first set of checkboxes. Initial load is usually pretty long (not sure how long but around 20 seconds seems right). After that typically it's within a few seconds. Every now and then it'll liike hang up though and take around the 20 second mark again though.
Navigate to your Far Cry 4 installation directory and then to the data_win32 subdirectory. Step 4: Make sure you have the directory with Gibbed's unpacker tools open in another explorer window, then drag and drop patch.dat from the data_win32 folder onto "Gibbed.Dunia2.Unpack.exe" that should be located in the /bin/ directory you extracted earlier.
Then i got my preset to work for a min and then it stopped again. • So i found those new SweetFX files based on SweetFX 1.5.1 but with many new Shaders [ Not Boulotaur2024's or normal 1.5.1} • Now it works like a charm with even better results. • Go to my Far Cry 4 Preset and there is a link in the description with those files. There is no technical reason for the textures to hog up 12GB of VRAM, not even on 4k. So it's Ubisoft's laziness that's a part of the problem. The other is, of course, that textures simply don't load properly, the benchmark doesn't provide an accurate test of capabilities and the VRAM slider showing required memory in game doesn't work properly Y6rW8f.
