far cry 1 map editor? i was planning to buy the original far cry and i was wondering if it had a map/level editor? if it did i bet i would enjoy it more becaue i like making maps and fooling around with it. Yes it comes with an editor called cryengine sandbox.

Start up the Farcry sandbox and select FILE > NEW, give your map a name and change the "Heightmap resolution" to 512x512. You should now see a nice sky box in the preview window. To generate some terrain we need to click on the "Terrain" Button to bring up the terrain editor.

For some reason, every time I click a rock or so much as move an object near a placed cliff, it regens the entire map's navmesh, causing extreme lag for 10-30 seconds. It makes building the map really annoying once you have more than a few big cliffs placed down. Got the same problem myself. I want to use the editor but can't when I have to
